In our result-oriented and impatient world, the virtue of patient waiting is unacceptable and agonising. However, in our spiritual journey, our capacity to wait will always be essential and necessary in order to receive the gift of contemplation. The season of Advent can reveal and teach us the two aspects of waiting – waiting for God and the waiting of God.
In this advent retreat, we will reflect and be guided by those who waited patiently for Jesus: Mary, Joseph, Simeon, Anna, and our Carmelite Saints.
